How We Use Your Data

General Data Protection Regulations

In compliance with the ‘General Data Protection Regulations’ introduced on 18th May 2018 ‘Clyde yachts’ will deal with your data in the following manner.

1. When enquiring about or booking any ‘Clyde yachts’ sailing activities your data will be stored securely by Clyde Yachts.

2. We will only ask for and keep data that is necessary for us to administer your enquiry/booking

3. We will use your data to keep you informed of any updates or changes to your enquiry or booking.

4. After a period of one year from your initial enquiry we will remove your data from our records unless you specifically request that we hold it for a further period

5. Your data will not be shared with anyone unless:

a) You have booked on an RYA course, in which case we will need to release some data to register with RYA certification or, in order that we comply with RYA guidelines we must open our centre for inspections process in which case the inspector/inspectors will have sight of, but not be given your data.

b) You have taken a bareboat charter in which case we may be required to release some of that on a request from HM Coastguard or a third party’s insurers or a harbour Authority.

c) We are required to maintain that data under any obligation to comply with any UK or European legislation.

d) “On successful completion of any RYA course your name, contact details, date of birth, certificate number and date of issue will be shared with the RYA through a secure web portal or www.rya.org.uk. The data will be stored on the RYA’s central database. This information allows the RYA to record your qualification, to update any records they may hold for you, and to verify or replace your certificate if required. 6 If you want us to remove your data earlier from our records then we will remove your data as soon as practicable after your request unless we are required to maintain that data under any obligation to comply with any UK or European legislation.

7 If you wish that we use you data to contact you advising you of any future sailing activities which we will be conducting, then we require that you send us a separate email using the following wording:

I ______________ consent to Clyde Yachts storing my data for future use in informing me of any sailing activities in the future which Clyde yachts may be running. I give this consent for the period of one year from the date of this email.
