More Information about the 'Yachtmaster™ Preparation Course'

Unlike other courses in the cruising programme, there is no formal training to complete in order to become a Yachtmaster™. Instead, provided that you have sufficient experience and sea-time, you can put yourself forward for an exam to test your skills and knowledge. 

There are two types 'Certificate of Competence':

Yachtmaster™ Coastal

Yachtmaster™ Offshore.

Best plan is to give us a call. We can then advise of which you should consider.

Many Yachtmaster™ candidates choose to book themselves into an RYA Training Centre for some tailor-made tuition to prepare them for the exam, but this is not compulsory.

Please note that if you are trained by us then our in house examiners are not allowed to conduct your exam. They can only advise on the process and comment on your suitability to proceed to exam.
